Happy Thursday Lovelies! We’re three days into winter and the weather is certainly delivering – cold cloudy days with a sprinkling of rain, and me struggling to get out of my cosy warm bed in the mornings. I’m already so jealous of everyone in the Northern Hemisphere posting about the weather warming up and prepping for Spring & Summer... Anyway, before we get lost in Winter, it’s time to recap everything I’ve been loving over the Autumn! It’s such an odd collection of things, with a couple of repeats, but it also accurately sums up how I’ve spent the last three months! I recently picked up the MCoBeauty Miracle HydraGlow Oil-Free Foundation and have been LOVING it! It is such a beautiful, light-weight foundation that has a nice buildable coverage and finish, and I’ve loved using it as my everyday foundation. Although I do love a full-coverage foundation, for everyday wear I tend to gravitate more towards something lighter, so this has been fantastic. I’m also a massive fan of this type of foundation packaging – more brands really need to get onto using pump tubes! There was so much hype around this product when it was released, and I definitely think it was worth it. Okay, so when I sat down to write this post, after taking all my photos, I realised that I included this in my Summer favourites... so let’s just roll with it because I’ve loved using it. I’m someone who is lowkey scared about using liquid eyeliner and creating wings because I know I’m going to make a mess of everything (and yes, it’s all about the practice, but I’d much rather just instantly be perfect haha). Enter the Technic Liner Stamp! I’ve loved adding a cute little wing to my makeup looks, so I definitely need a lifetime supply of these stamps! Did you hear the news that Time Team is making a return very soon, and with many of the originals? If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I’m a massive fan of Time Team, so when this news was announced, I started a binge rewatch of the entire series (that’s 280 episodes and specials). I’ve absolutely loved revisiting some of my favourite episodes and also finally watching some specials that I hadn’t seen before. I’ll admit, I still have a couple of seasons left to watch, but I hope to finish them this month because I’m also working on a blog post that I’m very excited about! If you’ve never watched Time Team, you definitely need to watch some episodes before the new specials are released! During Autumn, three new series of The Circle aired – two UK series and one US. I LOVE this show, so much so that while waiting for new episodes of The Circle UK season 3 to air, I binge rewatched season 1 and 2, AND season 1 of The Circle US... [actually, I binge rewatched a few other trashy reality shows around this time as well...]. I’m so bummed Channel 4 has decided to axe the UK version of the show, particularly because the Celebrity Stand Up To Cancer series and season three were both really good. Fingers crossed Netflix jumps to save the OG version of the show. If you have been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m big into researching my family history. Over the Autumn, I started digitising old family photos from my Nan and Pop, which resulted in me going through over 2070 photos. This then turned into uncovering family history documents and items, which I’ve digitised and stored in our family history archive. I shared a post about some of the family heirlooms I uncovered, which is only a small portion of everything I found. It’s been amazing to uncover these pieces and flesh out my family tree that bit more. It honestly felt like Christmas. GUESS WHO WAS IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENED! So at the end of May, literally last week, my friends and I went to Sydney to see Hamilton! Not only was it the first time I’d seen my friends in almost 12 months, but it was just a great week away in general. Hamilton was also PHENOMENAL, as I knew it would be, and I still can’t believe I got to see the show. The Australian cast did an amazing job bringing this iconic piece of theatre to life, and I just want to watch it over and over and over again. Jimmie Jetter stood in for Hamilton, and he was absolutely amazing and felt like our own Lin; Akina Edmonds is an absolute powerhouse as Angelica and Satisfied was phenomenal; Lyndon Watts is PERFECT as Burr, I loved every second he was on stage, and Wait For It was powerful; the entire ensemble was amazing and I loved watching what was going on around the stage, and not just focusing on the main action. If you’re in Australia, make sure you get tickets! Also, it’s apparently going to Melbourne next year, so you can bet I’m getting tickets to that! Finally, doubling back to family history, you may or may not be aware that I started a new podcast over the Autumn – Uncovering Family History! This podcast is all about sharing stories uncovered through family history research, and I’ve had a lot of fun telling my own stories. Five episodes have already been released, so definitely go check them out if you haven’t already. Due to a busy schedule in May and June, I’ve put it on the backburner for the time being. However, if you want to be involved on the podcast and chat about your research and the stories you’ve uncovered, be sure to head over the podcast page to learn more! Binge-watching, Hamilton and Family History really does just define the last three months of my life... And I ain’t mad about that! What are some of the things you’ve been loving recently?
