Happy Holidays Everyone!!
Another festive post this week in the lead-up to Christmas! Last week I talked about some of the Christmas episodes and specials you should be adding to your festive watch-list this year, so this week I thought I'd talk about some Christmas films you should be checking out! There are so many Christmas films out in the world, so you're never going to be short on what to watch, but it also means there are probably some that you've not thought to add to your watch-list. So, with a week left until Christmas, here's some films you should find the time to watch before the big day arrives! Season's Greetings Everyone!
The festive season isn't the festive season without sitting down and watching some Christmas films, but today I wanted to share some other Christmas things you could be watching right now - Christmas episodes and specials! Most TV shows to ever exist have had at least one holiday episode, so there are plenty out there for you to enjoy in December, but I've narrowed the thousands down to some of my favourites, both well-known Christmas episodes, and some you may have forgotten about. My list of TV specials and episodes is so long that I've had to cut a few out, otherwise this post would go on forever. But never fear, it just means I'll be able to do another post next year, without having to repeat the ones I've already talked about. So, put the popcorn in the microwave, make a drink, and get ready to add some great programs to your festive watch-list! Hey There Everyone! In case you didn't know, October marks 20 years since Charmed first premiered - 7 October to be exact. I can't believe we've had this amazing series, story and characters in our lives for 20 years, and that the show still continues to captivate fans all over the world. I for one binge-watch the show at least once a year, and I'm planning to make my way through the series throughout October. But to really celebrate this milestone, I've decided to create the 20 Years of Charmed Tag - a series of ten questions about what I love about our favourite San Fransisco witches. Hello Everyone! Ever since the trailer for Netflix's Insatiable dropped, there's been a LOT of controversy and talk surrounding the series, regarding it's 'fat-shaming' storyline, going so far as 100,000 plus signatures on a petition to get Netflix to pull the show before it's release. I'm sure you've seen everything about the show all over your social media timelines, especially over the past several days since the media embargo was lifted and the entire first series was dropped on August 10. Over the weekend, I sat down and watched all twelve episodes - roughly 50 minutes apiece - and thought I'd share my thoughts on the whole thing, and whether it's the show everyone is claiming it to be.
Hey There Everyone!
If you've been following the recent pilot season news, you will have heard about which TV shows networks are renewing, which they are dropping, and which new ones they are picking up. It's a time of mixed reactions as fans are relieved that their favourite has been kept for another season, angry at their favourite show for being dropped, and intrigued about what new shows to expect for the coming season. This season has seen a lot happen, from Brooklyn Nine-Nine being dropped by FOX, only to be picked up by NBC 36-hours later, FOX then dropping Lucifer and fans rallying to try and save it, and The CW picking up the seemingly unwanted Charmed reboot over the highly requested Supernatural spin-off, Wayward Sisters.
Since news came out last year about The CW wanting to do a Charmed reboot, response from fans has been mixed. And as more information about the show has come out, from the synopsis, casting, pilot rundown, and trailer, fans have continued to lean towards the negative end of the spectrum. Now, it seems that there's very few fans interested in this reboot at all. Like many fans, I've been vocal about my thoughts on the reboot on Twitter and YouTube, and today I thought I'd continue the conversation and discussion here, because there's a lot we need to talk about. Get comfy, because this is going to be a long one...
Happy Valentines Week! In case you hadn't realised, it's Valentines Day on Wednesday! Now, whether you have plans with a significant other, friends, your dog or a good book (I've posted some romance reads here), nothing says love and romance like Netflix & Chill. Now, feel free to partake in the euphemism of that term - I don't need to write a blog post for that! No, I'm here today to share with you some shows on Netflix that you should check out this week. If you're single, let Netflix be your date this V-Day, and if you're taken, have a Netflix date! Hey Everyone! I'm sure you've all head of the Netflix drama The Crown, which is chronicling Queen Elizabeth II's 60 year reign over 6 seasons. The second season dropped on Netflix back in December and over the holiday period I finally got a chance to binge watch both seasons, which was a terrible idea because now I have to wait for what feels like forever for season three. But, I fell in love with show instantly and I thought I'd continue my series of '7 reasons why you should be watching [TV show]'. But, as you may have noticed, it's not seven reasons I'm giving you, it's five. That's because you only need five reasons to watch this amazing drama - read on and find out why you need to watch this show if you've been living under a rock and haven't already! Hello Everyone!
As it's Australia Day on Friday, I thought I'd share with you seven of my favourite Australian films that you should check out this weekend. While our film industry is small, we've certainly produced some amazing films that not only showcase our talented actor and actresses, but also show off our beautiful country. From comedies and musicals to dramas and mysteries, Australia has covered most of the film genres, producing some pretty great viewing material. Okay, so we aren't as brilliant as Hollywood, but we've put our own mark on the film industry with the films we've put out in the world. There's so many amazing Australian films, many of which I'm still yet to see and I'm sure are just as great as the ones I talk about below. So, if you're favourite film isn't on this list, chances are I haven't seen it, or it only just missed the cut! Director: Giamaria Pezzato Producer: Stefano Prestia Starring: Stefano Rossi (Tom Marvolo Riddle), Maddalena Orcali (Grisha McLaggen), Alessio Dalla Costa (General Makarov), Andrea Bonfanti (Lazrus Smith), Gelsomina Bassett (Hepzibath Smith) Released: 13 January 2018 Production Company: Tryangle Films Length: 53 Minutes Hey There Everyone! A couple of weeks ago, I made a post about why you should be watching Dynasty and I naturally had to also make a post about my other TV/Netflix obsession - Riverdale. The show is currently seven episodes into the second season, so there is a bit of catching up needed if you haven't started the show yet, but it's honestly worth it. The show is perfect for binge-watching, and with the show taking a Christmas/New Years break soon, now's the perfect time to get all caught up with the drama of Riverdale. Here's seven reasons why you should be watching the show! |
