HELLO! HI! How are you? Hey there everyone - sorry I've been a bit MIA recently. If you follow me on social media, particularly Instagram, you may have seen what I've been up to recently that has left me to neglect this blog for almost a month. Anyway, I thought I would finally sit down and post my August favourites, because they are honestly my favourite favourites ever. This month it's a mix of beauty and apps - things I've been obsessed with since the moment I started using them. So enough rambling, let's do this! If you know me, you will know that I've been dying my hair for the past two years. I recently decided to take a bit more of a risk and go a tad darker than I thought I would choose. So instead of hazelnut or auburn, I went for Schwarzkopf's Live Salon Permanent in the shade Dark Brown. It's borderline black, but I absolutely love it. I thought I was happy with the hazelnut or auburn like I've had for the past two years, but I'm definitely sticking to the dark side that I've now crossed to. I've recently fallen back in love with Lush products - I had forgotten how great their products are and have been perusing their site for products I'd be interested in trying out. There's actually two Lush products on my favourites list this month. The first is the Angels on Bare Skin cleanser, which I have been using religiously since it arrived. Actually, I got this as a free sample in an order, and I was way more excited for the sample than I was the products I had actually ordered. My skin has felt so great since using this, and as someone with combination skin, I've definitely noticed how much it helps reduce the oiliness of my skin. And since it's made of natural ingredients, that makes it all even better! The next Lush product is D'Fluff, their strawberry shaving soap. I purchased this on a whim and I'm so glad I did. It's been fantastic to use for shaving, and since we are now in Spring, it's time to get backing into the leg-shaving routine. This shaving soap has definitely helped my razor glide over my skin and also moisturise, which we all know it important. Plus, it's literally strawberry mousse in a tub that I'm very tempted to try for dessert (why do Lush products look and smell good enough to eat?!). This is 100% going to me a must-have product over the summer! If you saw my blog post or video, you will have seen that I tried out the ColourPop No Filter Foundation, as well as the other No Filter Complexion products. Since then, I have fallen in love with this foundation, which is honestly the best foundation I've ever used. Not only is the shade - I'm Fair 60 - almost my perfect match, but it's also a fantastic matte foundation that is long-lasting. Once I use up some of my other foundations, this is totally going to be my go-to foundation. If you love ColourPop as much as I do, you really need to try this foundation! While we're on the subject of my love for ColourPop, the next favourite is their Double Entendre Palette. In general, I love ColourPop's eye shadows, and in a perfect world, I'd own every single palette and every single pot and pan that they've released. But this palette has got to be my favourite - it's everything I want in an eye shadow palette and more! My go-to shadows are browns, golds and neutrals, and this palette has all that and more, which has resulted me in picking this up almost every single time I've applied make up since I purchased it. ColourPop shadows are super pigmented and blendable, and this palette is no different. There are a few games that I've been obsessed with, the first being SongPop2. I'm sure you've seen a lot of influencers work with this app, which is actually why I downloaded it in the first place. This is such a fun app to play when in need of a 10-15 minute break and prove that you know your music. In case you didn't know, the aim of the app is to verse someone in testing how well you know songs, having to choose from four options while listening to a few seconds of the song. I've rediscovered my love for so many awesome 2000s hits because of this game, and it's really fun to play against people from all around the world, as well as people you know IRL. If you're a music fan and have yet to download this app, drop everything and do it now! I've recently fallen back in love with Hasbro board games-turned apps. The first is Game of Life. Now, I've never actually played the physical version of Game of Life, but I've had the app for years. They've recently revamped the app, but the overall gameplay is still the same. This has been a fun game to turn to and relax with, and the three different modes of gameplay mean every game you play is different to the next - you can play against the computer, connect with others online, or set up a room and play with IRL friends. However, the Hasbro game that I've been obsessed with, has been Cluedo. Again, this is a game that I've never played the physical version of (maybe once), but it makes such a fun app. I used to have the original app, which was more of a crime scene, murder mystery, you're-a-cop kinda thing, but this version goes back to the original. Like Game of Life, there are the three different modes of gameplay, and this has meant that me and my squad (that's our group chat name, so I'm going with it) have been able to play it together. We don't get to catch up in person often, so it's been great to have Cludeo the play together. The game in general is a lot of fun, but it's been super awesome to play with friends. And that is all for my August favourites! Sorry that this post is a tad late - I was super busy at the end of August and start of September, and although I thought I had enough time to get this blog post finished and scheduled/uploaded, it didn't really work out that well.
I'd love to know your thoughts on any of my favourites, and also what you've been loving recently - let me know in the comments below! Hopefully we will be back to the regularly scheduled weekly posts on a Monday from next week - thanks for staying patient. See You Soon! Victoria :) |
