Hiya Everyone! Okay, hi, hello, how is it JULY already??? Seriously, has someone checked to see if we actually had every single month? Because I swear we missed March to May... ANYWAY, even though this year seems to rushing by, I've still had time to acquire several favourites this past month. If you follow me on social media, you will probably know about a few already (sorry for the spam, but also I'm not). There's quite a few items, so let's just dive right in! beauty... I think I've finally found a good foundation! At the end of May, I picked up the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation in the shade 125 - Nude Beige. I have to admit, I think it might be slightly one shade too dark, but then at the same time, my finished look never looks terrible. When I start applying it definitely looks a tad dark, but once I've finished applying all my makeup it looks fine. I'm still going to try a lighter shade just to see if that's better, but in the mean time, I'm so in love with this! I was a little worried about it being the 'dewy + smooth' formula, as I have combination to oily skin and the 'matte + poreless' would probably be better, but I've found that it works really well with my skin and doesn't look terrible as my skin gets oilier throughout the day. I love the coverage as a little goes a long way and it's lightweight - I don't like having a tonne of product on my face so that has been fantastic. Finally, a big plus is the cost - it's super affordable and great quality to boot! Highly recommend giving this a go. Another newbie that I picked up recently is the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and it has been amazing. I'm someone who, when I need a new mascara, will try a new product or brand, so when I was getting low of my previous mascara, I thought I'd try a Maybelline one as I already have so many of their products which I love. This is their baseline, everyday, staple mascara, and it's been fantastic to use this past month - it looks great for an everyday look but also works well when you want to vamp it up a little for something fancier. It's also been refreshing to go back to using a regular mascara wand after having used a different shapes and sizes with previous mascaras. Again, it's also super affordable and I can definitely see myself coming back to this one in the future. food... This month while in the chocolate isle at Woolies (honestly the best isle in the supermarket) I found a whole stack of Terry's Chocolate Oranges! I've never seen them here in Australia before, and having heard a lot of UK YouTubers and Bloggers talk about the chocolate, I've always wanted to try and track them down to try. So when I saw it, I couldn't not buy one, although in hindsight, I really should have bought every single one there. I was not expecting it to taste so amazing - I was thinking it was going to taste like a Jaffa - so to see that it actually uses REAL orange essence, I was in HEAVEN! I can so see all the hype and praise around this chocolate because it's amazing delicious. I'm both annoyed and relieved that there isn't a Woolies in my town (we have an IGA) - annoyed because I would probably get one at every available opportunity, and relieved because I would probably get one at every available opportunity. My fellow Aussies, head to your nearest Woolies and get one because you honestly have not lived until you've had a wedge! television... Okay, so while I love reality TV, I'm not into the romance ones - The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, Married At First Sight, etc - BUT I've been obsessed with Love Island Australia these past six weeks! This is probably because it's like Big Brother (which I miss - please bring it back Channel 9!) but with the expectation that you are meant to hook up with your housemates. It's not the greatest piece of television, but it's been a total guilty pleasure for me. I'm kind of bummed that it's almost over, because now what am I meant to watch? I'm hoping it'll come back for another season next year! For anyone wondering, my favourites have been Josh, Jaxon, Cass and Erin, and my favourite couple is definitely Erin and Eden. I've also loved the drama, the gossip, the bitching and the snakes - such good entertainment! gaming... This leads me perfectly into my next obsession, which is thankfully going to continue after Love Island Australia finishes, and that's Love Island: The Game. It's essentially like the app Episodes where you get to control your Love Island story - you're in the villa trying to make a connection, and possibly start some drama. It's been so fun! The first five days of the game were available when the game was released, and now each day after that, which contain five parts each, are being released weekly. I was a little annoyed about this when I reached the end of day five and things were just starting to get interesting, but I'm really glad now as I know I 'd be finished by now - at least the game can be drawn out and you can really enjoy it. If you're a fan of the show, this is game you really need to play! It's free to play, but it you want extra game passes and gems, you do need to pay for them, but it's still fun without having to do that. music... You probably all know one of my music obsessions this month, but let me start with another before diving into the most obvious one. Earlier this month, Drake dropped the music video for I'm Upset, which is all kinds of amazing. Now, I'm not the biggest Drake fan - I can appreciate his music, but it's not really something I'm into - but I really like this song, and the more I've listened to it, the more I enjoy it. What I really want to talk about is the music video which was a freaking Degrassi: Next Generation, class of 2007 reunion! That's right, a bunch of the Next Gen class got together at the school where they filmed the show for this music video and it's epically amazing. My little Degrassi heart honestly couldn't take seeing all these people back together again. My favourite part of the video has got to be once the song ends when credits start to play - it's the freaking Next Gen theme song with clips of the cast then and now. IT'S. SO. GOOD. Every time I watch the video I get the urge to have a Next Gen rewatch, but I've been able to control myself, for now. Seriously, any Degrassi fans who seemed to have missed this, go and watch it! PRAY FOR THE WICKED IS FINALLY HERE! You've seen me talk about the album in previous favourites posts and I'm sure you've seen me gush about the album on social media since it came out on June 22. I can honestly say that I've had the album on repeat since it came out and I love every single track. The whole album is amazing and Brendon has done such a phenomenal job - each track has it's own unique sound and story. While I do love the whole album, I do have a few standout favourites - Roaring 20s, Dying in LA, The Overpass, and One of the Drunks. But really, every track is a bop and a half. If you've been living under a rock, get around this new Panic! At The Disco album and fall in love with it! And I'm sorry if you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr, but my PATD/PFTW posts aren't going to stop anytime soon! blogging... I don't know if you've noticed, but I've got new blog graphics! And it's not just this blog that I've revamped, I've also updated My Books Are Me, VMK Photography and the website I admin for a community organisation. To make these graphics, I've used the website Canva, and I may be a little obsessed with it. It's a website that helps you create a whole bunch of different graphics and designs using a whole host of templates - blog banners, social media posts, invites, ad banners, book covers, documents and so much more. There's so many different designs to work with for each template, and it's been so fun playing around with what I want my graphics to look like. The best part? It's FREE. Sure, there is a paid aspect if you want access to even more designs and features, but the amount you get for nothing is amazing. If you're a blogger, Youtuber, influencer, social media manager, writer, or just anyone, I really urge you check out Canva because I'm sure you'll find something useful to you. June has probably been my favourite month in terms of favourites - there's so much variety and things that I've been OBSESSED with. As I've said a few time, sorry if you follow me on social media and have to put up with my constant posts regarding a few of this things, but I just love them so much!
I'd love to know, what are some of the things you've been loving this past month? See You Soon! Victoria :) *goes back to listening to Pray for the Wicked on repeat* |
