This week I thought I'd share with you all some of the podcasts that I've been listening to recently, and hopefully get some recommendations for you guys! Podcasts have always been things that I've listened to, but more recently I have been listening to them more consistently when new episodes drop.
If I'm being honest, most of the podcasts that I listen to at the moment are YouTube-related, mainly because I really enjoy the content that these creators produce. However, I do want to listen to non-YouTube podcasts as well, and I'm slowly discovering new podcasts that I enjoy listening to.
When it comes to listening to podcasts, I usually listen to them in the shower (some days it's blaring my shower songs playlist, or listening to a podcast), while I'm studying, or when I just need some down time.
It's probably been two years since I really started watching Rhett & Link consistently on Good Mythical Morning, and since then I've been loving all the different content that they, and Mythical Entertainment, produce, this podcast being one of them. It's so great to see (or really listen, because I don't watch the video version) a different side of the duo, with more personal things shared on the podcast. Plus, every week there's always something fun and different to listen to with each new guest they have on the show, whether it be a member of the crew, a fellow YouTuber, or someone really unexpected.
While I don't listen to the show every week, I definitely enjoy the hour when I do. If you're a fan of Rhett & Link and haven't listened to Ear Biscuits yet, I highly recommend checking it out!
Lower Your Expectations
LYE is a podcast that I, without fail, listen to every week. Marcus is a YouTuber that I've watched for years, since I first got into watching YouTube videos in about 2011/12. Marcus and Matt make an awesome podcast duo, and I always enjoy every episode, from their random chats, to YouTube talk and the BIG Question. It's also been really great to listen to them chatting with other YouTubers, with the likes of Alfie Deyes, Caspar Lee and Louis Cole discussing their thoughts on the YouTube community and their growth on the platform.
It's such a fun podcast to tune into every week, and always makes me laugh. I'll definitely be listening to the new episode sometime today, so definitely check it out if you haven't already!
The Em Rusciano Radio Show with Harley Breen
I've always been a fan of Em - she's absolutely hilarious - since she appeared on Australia Idol and I was family friends with her uncle (fun fact, he was my bus driver for all six years of high school and would probably mention Em at least once a week). Because this radio show airs in Sydney from the ungodly hour of 6am, I don't get to tune in every morning, instead, I listen to Em and Harley's hilarious exchanges on this podcast. Em is hilarious on her own, but alongside Harley, the pair just have me in stitches. With a new episode dropping every weekday afternoon, I don't actually listen to an episode everyday. Instead, I binge a few episodes at a time during the week, or save all five for the weekend.
I love that I can still listen to breakfast radio in the afternoon or at 10pm - there's no need to try and wake up every morning to tune in when it's delivered to my podcast app every afternoon! You really need to listen to this podcast, because I know you'll just love it!
Not Too Deep
Grace is such a fun YouTuber, so when I found that she also had a podcast, I just had to listen to it. Alongside Jack, these two just seem to have so much fun, and like LYE, it always makes me laugh and I'm always excited to tune in every week. Throw in the fact that they have a special guest almost every episode, and that this guest is usually YouTube/internet orientated, and you've got a really fun podcast that a blast to listen to.
How many podcasts and interviews can you say that one question asked is: "Tell us your worst pants-shitting story in three words or phrases."? I can't think of any others, so you should definitely listen to this podcast just for answers!
Shane & Friends
Shane is a YouTuber that's been on my radar for years, but it's only been in the last year to eighteen months that I've really started watching him on a regular basis. And it's really only been this year that I've been listening to his podcast. I don't tune in every week, because sometimes the guests featured in the episode aren't necessarily ones that I'm interested in, but the episodes I do listen to are always super enjoyable and fun to listen to. Shane and Jess have such a fun dynamic, and now that Drew is also involved, they never fail to make me laugh.
This is a podcast that I really want to watch the video version of, but I've never actually gotten around to doing that. It's also a podcast that I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall while recording, because it sounds like everyone has an absolute blast. Definitely a podcast to listen to if you haven't already!
The Small YouTuber Podcast
Finally, the last podcast in a new one that I've only just launched in August. It's an awesome podcast created by fellow Aussie YouTuber Dylan Swain, where he chats with other small YouTubers from around the world. I've listened to most, if not all episodes, and have discovered some awesome new YouTubers, which I'm now subscribed to and enjoying their content. As a small YouTuber myself, it's been great to listen to others talk about their experiences on YouTube and just have some fun banter for half an hour.
Whether you're a YouTuber or not, this is such an interesting podcast to listen to and I'm sure you'll find some new YouTubers to watch!
I hope this post has given you some new podcasts to check out, or maybe just motivation to get back into listening to them. I'd love to know what some of your favourite podcasts are, so that I can go check them out also!
See You Next Week!
