Happy Tuesday Lovelies! Summer is really making its presence known this week with three days of 40oC+ weather to contend with. It could be worse, but considering we’ve had a relatively cool Summer so far, it’s a bit of a hit! Anyway, weather aside, today we’re diving into a beauty review! Over the past six weeks I’ve been fortunate enough to have been working with Aussie beauty brand Raww Cosmetics as part of a Social Soup campaign. It’s been SO much fun getting to try a brand that I’ve only seen a little bit across my socials prior to now. So if you’re looking for a natural, cruelty free and vegan skincare and makeup brand, Raww could be the one for you! This post contains ad-gifted products. I was under no obligation to write a blog post. All opinions are my own and 100% honest. Raww is ALL about the natural ingredients, with a focus on superfoods that really pack a punch. You know how we’re told we should be eating more superfoods? Raww took things to the next level and put them in skincare and makeup products! They also boast a bunch of Nos – no parabans, no Talc, No Bismuth Oxychloride, no nanoparticles, no synthetic fragrances, no chemicals, no LSL or SLES, no Sulphates, no Petrochemicals, and no animal testing! That’s a lot of good nos! For this campaign, I was kindly sent FIVE products to trial over four weeks – four skincare and one makeup. These products were geared towards combination to oily skin, with the dry skin products differing slightly. So my routine consisted of a cleanser, toner, serum, cream, and foundation. And let me tell you, I was thoroughly impressed with all five products! A big ingredient in many of Raww’s products is ‘WildBerry Harvest’ which is a unique blend of three exotic super-berries found only in the Australian outback, Pepperberry, Riberry and Muntries. These berries are clinically proven to pack quiet a hydration punch, resulting in a healthier and radiant-looking complexion. STEP ONE: CLEANSE I’m a sucker for a natural cleanser and over the past few years have been trying to find a good Aussie-made cleanser using natural ingredients. The Purify-ME Gentle Cleanser contains WildBerry Harvest for long term hydration, coconut water for hydration, Kakadu Plum which is rich in antioxidants, Avocado Oil to help firm the skin, and Moringa Oil for skin nourishment. I use cleanser at night, washing away the day’s build-up of dirt and makeup. I found that a small amount of cleanser really goes a long way, and my skin is left not only feeling clean and fresh, but also hydrated. And the coconut, vanilla and lime fragrance is a super nice touch. 100mL / 3.4 fl oz for $19.99 STEP TWO: TONE I’ll be honest, I’m not always on the ball when it comes to toner. It’s usually the product in my routine that I end up skipping the most, but when I do use it I’m reminded of how damn good it is for my skin. The Balance-ME Mist Toner contains WildBerry Harvest for long term hydration, coconut water for hydration, Goji berry to help fight free radicals, Kakadu Plum for an antioxidant boost, Witch Hazel extract to soothe, and Green Tea to help clam redness. A BIG drawcard for this toner is the spritz aspect of it – I’ve never used a mist toner before but I’m a big fan! It’s super convenient to spray on your face and I feel like I get a good coverage of product to soak into my face. Once again, the toner has a coconut, vanilla and lime fragrance which is seriously so nice and refreshing. 100mL / 3.4 fl oz for $19.99 STEP THREE: SERUM Serums haven’t really been a big part of my skincare routine, mainly because I’ve never known where to start and what serums to get. Wait no, that’s kind of a lie. I do use a Niacinamide + Zinc serum, but that’s more a spot serum than a total-face serum. ANYWAY, the point is, I’ve not used a serum like this! The Dew Drop Hydrating Serum contains WildBerry Harvest to nourish and hydrate the skin, Nori Extract which helps retain moisture and improve skin elasticity, and Aloe Vera to help soothe and calm redness. Once again, this is another product where a little goes a long way! It instantly feels super hydrating, even before continuing the routine. Although, I have actually been using this slightly different to its recommended use, which I’ll get to in a minute. The cucumber fragrance is also super nice and refreshing and nicely compliments that lime fragrance of the previous products. 30mL / 1fl oz for $34.99 STEP FOUR: MOISTURISE As someone with oily skin, I know how important it is to moisturise the heck out of your face! In the past, I’ve mainly stuck to mattifying moisturisers, so this made a really nice change. The Super Hydrate-ME Day Cream contains WildBerry Harvest to nourish and hydrate the skin, Apricot Kernel Oil to help firm and tone skin, and Mango Seed Butter to help prevent breakouts. This cream is SO nice! Again, a little goes a long way, so this pot will keep your skin hydrated for a while. As I said, I’ve predominantly been using mattifying moisturisers, so this certainly made for an interesting change. But I really loved how nice my skin felt, and while it felt super hydrated and moisturised, it didn’t get overly oily, so YAY! And like everything else, the fragrance of Sweet Verbena is super refreshing. 60g / 2.1 oz for $29.99 STEP FIVE: FOUNDATION This is probably the product I was MOST excited for. I LOVE trying new makeup, in particular foundation, so I had my fingers crossed that this would be a good foundation, and more importantly, a good colour match! The Super-Camo Foundation is a medium to high coverage foundation infused with Oligolin (Flaxseed) that is clinically proven to hydrate and improve skin firmness, all while covering up those pesky imperfections. Firstly, the shade range of this foundation is not the best. Which in 2021, is not okay. Because of this, I was super unsure as to whether I’d get a good match. I bit the bullet and went for the lightest shade – vanilla – in the hopes that it would be okay, and if it was too light, I could pile on the contour and bronzer to help balance it with my skintone. Guess what, it was a pretty damn good match! Which honestly means all my other foundations are too dark and too pink-toned, so that’s a good thing to learn! The foundation itself is SO nice. It’s such a lightweight foundation but still covers up all the problem areas after just one layer of application. And if you need a little more coverage, it’s really buildable without feeling weighed down. I use a primer underneath and some setting powder on top, so I found that it lasted super well throughout the day, which considering its Summer and that I have oily skin, says a LOT. The tube and pump packaging is also super nice and is perfect for travel (not that we’re travelling a lot these days, but it’s nice to know that when we’re on the move again this is a great foundation o have with us). I will say, the foundation was a little more on the creamier side than I’m used to, so that did take a moment to get used to. But that’s where the serum comes in – it’s perfect to help make it a little more workable with a beauty blender. Just two drops and you’re good to go! Plus, it just means more hydration power, so that’s a win all round I think. 7 shades available - 30mL / 1 fl oz for $34.99 Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed by the Raww products I’ve used so far. My skin has absolutely been loving the daily dose of superfoods, and on the few days where I wasn’t using any or all the skincare products, I certainly noticed the change in my skin. The foundation is by far one of the best foundations I’ve used, and I’m definitely keeping it as a more special occasion foundation as opposed to an everyday foundation.
So what would I repurchase myself? Honestly, everything. I feel like all the products worked really well together and I don’t know if I could necessarily pick and choose. But if you are making me choose just one, skincare-wise it would probably be the day cream. It’s just such a nice cream that leaves my skin feeling so nice and ready to tackle the day. But like, I want them all, so... Looking to grab a few products? Consider signing up for their newsletter to receive $10 off your first order! We love a good introductory discount! There’s also so many more products available, so have a peruse of everything Raww has to offer. A super important thing to note if you do decide to purchase some products – PATCH TESTING IS A MUST! These products are packed full of natural ingredients and not everyone’s skin is going to handle all that goodness. While I didn’t have any reactions to the products, I know a lot of people involved in this campaign had reactions to some or all of the products. So please patch test to make sure the products are going to work for you! I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of Raww’s products and what your thoughts are on them. And if you decide to give the brand a try, let me know what you think! I’m so grateful to have been part of this campaign and getting to try a pretty darn good Aussie skincare brand!
