Hey There Everyone!
Another month, another Bellabox! It's been a while since I've actually done one of these review posts, but since I've played around with everything in this box already, I thought why not! March's box - Runway Ready - was my first box for 2019 after pausing my subscription for the first two months of the year to catch up on products from previous boxes (spoiler alert, I totally didn't). And it was a pretty decent box filled with a nice mix of goodies, mainly from brands I've never heard of or tried before.
I'm in a bit of a post-weekend away slump. Every year, my dad's side of the family get together for a family reunion over a weekend in March. It's always a super fun weekend and I'm always left in a slump as we all return to the real world. So, in order to try and make the weekend last even longer, I wanted to do a little blog post today about the weekend and the shenanigans we got up to.
If you've followed me for a while now, you will know that I've been bitten by the genealogy bug. I suppose it's not surprising given that my mother started out researching the family history years ago and that I'm a history nerd anyway. I've talked about my genealogy research before, but I've not yet shown you all how I actually record and display my research. Not gonna lie, I'm quiet proud of the display I've created.
Happy Pancake Tuesday Everyone!
Not that pancakes really have anything to do with the post, but still. Today's post is inspired by the Aussie soap opera Neighbours and the absolutely heartbreaking episode that will be airing tonight. It's been coming for weeks and I'm still not prepared, and I want to ball my eyes out just thinking about it. You see, one of the characters is dying in tonight's episode, and it got me thinking about some of the most heartbreaking TV deaths that have left me drowning in a puddle of my own tears.
Why Hello There!
It's been a few weeks, I know. The grand plan of smashing a new blog post out every week kind of flopped, BUT, it's okay. Anyway, I'm here now to share everything I've been loving over the past three months! There's a lot of things that have made it onto my Summer favourites list, and if you follow me anywhere on social media, some of these won't come as a surprise to you. So, without further ado, let's get into it!
I've recently become obsessed with the brand I Heart Revolution, mainly due to their super aesthetically pleasing packaging, but also because of their fantastic quality for an affordable price. So, I thought I'd share my love for the chocolate palettes by doing a little swatch party.
This Saturday, January 26, is Australia Day - Australia's national day, celebrating all things Aussie. But is it? Celebrating all things Aussie, that is? Controversy surrounding the date and day has always existed, but in more recent years the #ChangeTheDate debate has increased, with more and more people voicing their wish for the date of our national day to be changed to be more inclusive of all Australians. Here's a look into Australia Day, why it's celebrated on January 26, and why changing the date is an important debate to be had, and one you need to get involved in.
Happy Summer Everyone!
I suppose you're wondering what the hell SlowTV is? Don't worry, I thought the same when I first heard the term used last year. Well, it's a television genre covering ordinary events in their complete length - like a train journey. The term and idea is popular in Norway, and has become quiet popular here in Australia, thanks to the SBS. Last year, they aired the journey of The Ghan, the iconic train that travels from Adelaide to Darwin. This year, they've planned a whole 'Slow Summer', with a new journey every Sunday in January. And I'm completely mesmerized!
Happy Summer Everyone!
Now that December and the holiday season is over, we can enjoy all that the Aussie summer has to offer - heatwaves and all. Between relaxing at the beach or by the pool, it's the perfect time of chill in the front of the tellie and binge some series that you've been meaning to watch. So before you head back to school/univeristy or go back to work after some time-off, here's five series you should be watching this Summer!
Happy New Years Eve Everybody!
It's hard to believe that TOMORROW it will be 2019 - where the hell has the past year gone? After the tremendously slow January, the rest of the year seem to fly by, and I swear we skipped over a few months there at some point. It's actually scary how quickly time seems to be rushing by, and I'm sure it won't be long before I'm sitting down and writing this same post in a years time. BUT anyway, today, as it's the last day of 2018, I thought I'd go back and share my favourite favourites for the year. Let's do this!
