Happy December Everyone! It's finally December, and not to alarm you, but Christmas is only TWENTY THREE days away. Yeah, that's a little scary. Last year I was super organised and had a majority of my gifts purchased (and almost wrapped) by now, but this year, I've been a bit more slack. So I really need to get my butt moving. If you're in the same boat as me, fear not, I'm here with a little gift guide if you're struggling to come up with ideas, or just need something extra to complete a gift. (Please note that this post does include affiliate links, which have been marked accordingly with **) Disney x ColourPop Anyone who follows me knows I LOVE ColourPop - they're a super affordable makeup brand with high quality products with something for everyone. While I totally recommend gifting any of their products, it's their Disney collaboration that is perfect for gifting, especially to Disney fans. So far, there are three collections - Princesses, Villains and Midnight Masquerade - with the main piece of the collection an 18-pan palette. The rest of the collection is comprised of two-three products surrounding six characters. Each character can be purchased in a bundle, or you can mix and match your favourite characters. If you know which film/character is your giftee's favourite, you can totally make an awesome bundle of products. And even if you don't know any of their favourites, you really can't go wrong with the product and shade selection. ColourPop and this collaboration is perfect for both makeup lovers and those new the makeup. Plus, a mini Disney collection just dropped, with features Anna and Elsa in celebration of Frozen II. The brand is most well-known for it's chocolate palette collection, with super fun packaging and interesting colour stories, ranging from super wearable palettes to palettes with lots of fun colours. Recently they've also started expanding their food collection with small doughnut palettes and larger palettes themed around the likes of avocado, pizza and popcorn. Because it's such a fun brand, they're palettes make for really fun gifts that are sure to excite makeup lovers and makeup newbies alike. I've talked about this before on my blog and channel, and have found it to be a great addition to my genealogy journey. If you want to learn a little more about what information you can gain, check out my blog post here. It's also the gift that keeps on giving, with more and more information and regions becoming available as the DNA database grows. If you're giftee is a budding family historian or just has an interest in learning more about their roots, this would be a great gift. #BuyFromTheBush A big movement that's gained momentum recently has been #BuyFromTheBush, which encourages people to buy from small businesses in our rural communities, many of which are suffering through a tough drought and little to no water allocation. It's a fantastic movement, with hundreds of small business promoted on the hashtag and social media accounts. I seriously urge you all to consider buying some of these amazing products as I'm sure you'll find something you or your giftee will really love, you'll be buying local, as well as helping out those who are struggling to stay afloat in this drought. While I can't obviously list every single #BuyFromTheBush brand, there are two I do want to share as they are both local to me. The first is Little Ones by Kimmy Falls. The overall aim of the brand is to create beautiful jewellery that is safe for mothers with small children to wear - their exploring hands can grab onto the necklaces and even test things out with their mouth and it's totally okay but still stylish. These necklace designs can also be made into keychains and lanyards, plus some GORGEOUS polymer clay earrings. There's also some really beautiful baby pieces as well, and even though the target audience is mothers, the jewellery is perfect for anyone. The other local that I just had to include is Little BRICK Pastoral, lowkey because a friend of mine is the brainchild behind the adventures of the LEGO Farmer and his agricultural industry friends. As a whole, Little BRICK Pastoral celebrates the Australian agriculture industry through the use of LEGO. I firstly recommend following the adventures of the LEGO Farmer on social media, but gift-wise, check out the 2020 Little BRICK Pastoral Calendar, filled with amazing and creative photos showcasing everything the agricultural industry has to offer. PLUS, each calendar funds an education day for women and girls in the developing world. (If LEGO isn't your thing, there's also the 2020 Farm-ily Calendar, which still has a rural focus, just without LEGO). You really can't go wrong with gifting calendars at Christmas! My brand of choice is Typo/CottonOn, who have a wide range of metal and plastic drinkware that features beautiful designs and will help keep you hydrated or caffeinated. The hardest part is going to be deciding which design to choose because they're all so beautiful, and you'll no doubt want to buy one for yourself while you're grabbing one for you giftee. Products pictured**: Metal Drink Bottle [500ml] - $29.99 (also available in licensed Friends, Harry Potter, and Marvel designs) Metal Travel Tumbler - $19.99 Drink It Up Bottle - $12.99 Small Metal Drink Bottle [350ml] - $19.99 The Sipper Metal Travel Mug - $10.00 Shower Speaker I, like most people, LOVE to sing in the shower. And even more than that I love listening to music in the shower. So I was really excited when a friend gifted me a Typo Shower Speaker for my birthday in September. I've used it nearly every day since and I just had to add it to this list. Once again, Typo products have some amazing and beautiful designs and this is the perfect gift for a self-proclaimed shower superstar - and it may help drown out how terrible they actually are. It's also great to use at the beach or by the pool, so with it being Summer in Australia, it could just be the present your giftee needs! If you're not sold on the shower speaker, Typo also has some other portable speaker designs as well, so definitely check them all out before making your final decision. Tilley Reed Diffusers & Candles Everyone LOVES a good candle, and with so many different scents available, it's not that hard to find one your giftee is going to like - the hardest thing is just going to be narrowing down your scent selection! Tilley Soaps is a great Aussie brand that specialises in soy candles, reed diffusers, and as you guessed it, soap. While I've not tried their candles, I do love their reed diffusers, especially from their 'Scents of Nature' range, which also includes candles, soaps and wax melts. Everything I've had a chance to use or smell has been DIVINE and I wish you good luck in trying to find just one scent to gift, or to not buy something for yourself. Tilley also have other collections with a variety of products and scent themes, so definitely check out all they have to offer. Products pictured: Tropical Coconut Cream Soy Candle - $18.00 Fresh Lavender Reed Diffuser - $22.00 Vanilla Nougat Candy Soy Candle - $18.00 Crisp Watermelon Reed Diffuser - $22.00 DIY Hampers We've all seen the awesome hampers that are available around Christmas time - there's always so many to choose from that it can be a little overwhelming. On top of that, sometimes they're just a bit too expensive or aren't quiet what you're looking for. Instead of throwing that idea out the window, consider making your own hamper! In making your own hamper, you can easily set your own price-point and include things that you know your giftee will use and enjoy. You'll end up creating a gift that is a little more special and personalised, which means so much more than a mass-produced hamper that might not be exactly what you were looking for. If all else fails and you're still stuck for a gift, or you've somehow left your shopping until the last minute, you really can't go wrong with a good gift card. Whether it be for your giftees favourite retailer, or even their go-to streaming service (or maybe one they're yet to try), you'll be able to, hopefully, find something that they'll enjoy. And it'll certainly take the pressure off you trying to find the perfect gift - let them try and work out what they want to buy!
I hope this little gift ideas list has helped, even if it just gave you some new ideas to explore, and not necessarily exact gifts to buy. I know it can be a struggle to buy people gifts, particularly family members who seem to have everything. At the end of the day, don't feel the need to go overboard and buy everything - even the smallest gift can mean the world to someone if you put a bit of thought into it. So to everyone who hasn't started their shopping yet, like me, GOOD LUCK! And to those who've purchased and wrapped all their gifts already, what is your secret? Happy Holidays! Victoria :) |
