Happy March Everyone! How is 2022 treating you so far, natural disasters, global pandemic and war aside? I cannot believe we’re already in March! I know February is legitimately the shortest month of the year, but it felt like it absolutely flew by. I’ve had all these blog post and content ideas on my to-do list and I just don’t know where the time has gone to actually get stuck into it all. Nevertheless, let’s start rectifying the situation with a little swatch party! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had a swatch party on the blog, so I’m kicking things off with the ETUDE Fixing Tint collection - let me tell you I’m OBSSESSED! I’ve always been a matte liquid lip gal, but lip tints may just be my new favourite lip product! I was super fortunate to be kindly sent the entire 8-shade range of the ETUDE Fixing Tints recently thanks to YesStyle, which gave me a great opportunity to play around with all the shades and get a feel for the lip tint formula. I’d only tried one lip tint prior to these, and that was only back at Christmas, so I’m pretty much a lip tint noob at this point. The hydrating formula is super weightless and claims to last all day without transferring, especially if you are wearing it under a facemask. Just going off how hard it was to remove my swatches, I can say they have some serious staying power, which is what I’m always looking for in a lip product – there is nothing worse than your lipstick transferring within five minutes of applying it, or becoming super patchy as it comes off your lips. As much as I LOVE matte liquid lipstick, one of things I sometimes don’t like about those formulas is how drying it can be on the lips, which is one of the reasons why I don’t venture outside the few brands I know aren’t super drying. The moment you apply these tints you can feel that the formula is hydrating, and even though it dries down once applied, it doesn’t have a drying feeling to it. The doe foot applicator is a nice shape and size, making it really easy to apply the tint without getting it everywhere other than your lips. And it also makes it really easy to achieve either a super bold and bright look, or a more understated gradated effect for a little pop of colour. One of the reasons I’ve been so excited to try lips tints is to create the more gradated effect, which can be really hard to achieve with matte or satin liquid lipsticks, so I’ve been enjoying playing around with which shades I prefer using for this method. The shades in this collection are all super pretty, ranging from a brown nude to a light pink to a bright red to a dusty pink to a plum. There’s pretty much a shade for every occasion, so it’s definitely worthwhile picking up a couple, or all, of the shades. I’d have to say that my favourite is Ginger Milk Tea, because I’m a sucker for a brown lip. Although I also really like both Vintage Red and Mellow Peach. Honestly, they’re all really gorgeous shades and I’ve been having a hard time choosing which one I want to wear when I’m applying my makeup. I’ve been seeing more and more creators sharing their love for lip tints, and I can finally see why everyone is obsessed with these products. They’re super lightweight, are long-lasting, and can easily be used as a light swipe of colour or something more bright and bold. While I’m not about to toss out my collection of matte liquid lipsticks and wear only lip tints, I will definitely be reaching for these more and more, especially on the days when I don’t want to be wearing heavy makeup.
If you want to get your hands on these gorgeous tints, they’re available for AU$18.24 from Yestyle*. And if you want a cheeky little discount, be sure to use my code – JUSTMEVIC95 – at checkout. I’d love to know some of your favourite lip tint brands so I can check them out – I’m definitely going to be growing my collection! If you’re yet to delve into the world of lip tints, ETUDE is a really great place to start, so if you get some for yourself, let me know what shades you purchase! Happy Tinting! Victoria :) |
