Nick knows Charlie's gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn't. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family ... and himself. A cute coming-of-age graphic novel that you’ll devour in one sitting.
After kissing Nick, Charlie is mortified that he’s ruined their friendship, but is pleasantly surprised when Nick admits that he like Charlie too. The pair embark on a secret relationship, keeping things on the downlow until Nick is has figured out how he wants to label his sexuality and come out. To those on the outside, it looks like Charlie has fallen for the straight boy, but for Charlie and Nick, it’s all they could ever hope for and more. But not everyone is going to receptive to their relationship, and friendships are going to be put to the test... Oh my gosh this volume was just as cute as the first! The continuation of Charlie & Nick’s story was just so beautiful and really hits you in all the feels. This series is super quick read, so be sure to pace yourself but also have the rest of the books lined up ready to go! I really enjoyed Alice’s art style – it’s simple yet fun, and a great starting point for anyone new to the graphic novel genre. Charlie and Nick’s story was also super sweet, cute and fun, and I can’t wait to see where Alice has taken them in the rest of the series. If you’re a sucker for a cute coming-of-age romance, love graphic novels, and can’t get enough of LGBTQIA+ reads, Heartstopper needs to be near the top of your TBR! It’s a stunning series and I can’t wait to see how they’ve adapted it for Netflix. A must-read! |
