Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a fabulous International Women's Day yesterday and took the time to honour the amazing women in your life! To all the women out there – keep being amazing, inspiring and kicking butt! Today I thought I’d unzip my makeup bag and give you all a peek at what my current essentials are and what must-haves I always have on hand! While there is way more to my makeup collection than these products, these are the ones I am reaching for the most right now. This post contains affiliate links, denoted with (*). ...face Starting out with face products is the Makeup Obsession Game Set Matte Mattifying Primer. I have a couple of primers that I rotate between, but this is definitely my go-to and the one I enjoy using the most. With combination skin, I like to make sure my makeup stays on my face for as long as possible and that the oils can be kept at bay for most of the day. On top of that comes Raww Cosmetics Super-Camo Foundation, which is such a beautiful foundation. Again, I do have a few foundations I rotate between, depending on what I’m feeling and what exactly I’m doing that day, but this is by far my favourite – the coverage is super buildable but is very lightweight on the skin, and in the shade ‘Vanilla’, it’s also a fantastic match to my skintone. To cover up those annoying dark circles is the Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal and Contour. Again, I always have a few concealers on the go, but this is definitely the one I reach for the most. It’s perfect for covering up those pesky dark circles and brightening under the eyes, as well as adding extra coverage to any breakouts, although I’m not always fussed about totally hiding any blemishes. And finally, setting all that down is the Revolution Loose Baking Powder. It’s such a nice powder and helps keep everything in place, particularly around my t-zone. With my base laid down, it’s time to add some colour and definition! First up is adding a healthy bronze glow with the Revolution Bronzer Reloaded. This baked bronzer is really buildable to go from a nice swipe of golden glow to a stunning sunkissed look. Adding to the glow is the I Heart Revolution Rose Gold Glow Highlighter, particularly the pink shade. This is such a pigmented and blinding highlighter, but works for a simple everyday look or for a statement look. And finally is the Zoella x ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush! While I’m not a big blush user, I do quiet like adding in a light sweep of colour every now and then. This is a really nice peach-toned pink that adds a nice little pop of blush with even the smallest amount of product. ...eyes I think eye products are some of my favourite makeup products! I have LOTS of palettes, and while I do like to play around with them, I do tend to gravitate towards my neutrals and nudes. And in particular, I really love the Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Palette, which is a super handy neutrals palette to have on hand, working well for both natural everyday looks and some glam evening looks. If I’m ever going anywhere, this is usually one of the palettes I’ll take with me. Mascara is something that I tend to change up whenever I need to purchase a new tube, but my current favourite is the ModelCo Power Lash Black Mascara*, which is a great everyday mascara to have on hand. I love using eyeliner on my lower lash line and I can never go past the ColourPop Creme Gel Liner*. I have a few different colours, but I always come back to a black or a brown, and the ColourPop formula is amazing, making it glide on so nicely. And more recently, I’ve finally started playing around with using liner on lid and trying to do a wing. And with the Technic Cosmetics Liner Stamp, I can cheat to create a really nice wing! I love how easy the stamp is to use and I’ve been loving adding a wing to most of my makeup looks. Finally, I can’t forget the brows, and my current favourite is the Rimmel Wonder’Full Brow 24hr Brow Mascara with Fibres. I do have a couple of different brow products on the go all the time, from pencils to powder, but I really love the ease of brow mascara. ...lips Rounding out the look is the lips! I’m sucker for a liquid matte lip, especially if it’s a nude shade (even though I do love a bold pink or red lip!). One of my favourite nude lips is the Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in ‘Bestie’. The shade is the perfect everyday nude brown and the formula is so nice – it’s matte but not super drying. My other go-to matte lips is the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in ‘WYD’. Again, the shade is a fantastic everyday nude brown and the formula lasts so well throughout the day, although it can be a little drying at times. Honestly, just give me any brown liquid matte lip and I’ll be happy! And that’s everything that’s currently in my makeup bag! Obviously, there are makeup tools – I’m a beauty blender kinda gal and have a nice collection of brushes from various brands. And naturally, there are other products that I dip in and out of whenever I do try to mix things up.
So, what’s in your makeup bag? And have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments below! Have a fantastic week! Victoria :) |
