AUTHOR: Teagan Hunter GENRE: NA Romance PAGES: 246 RELEASED: 10 December 2020 SERIES: Roommate Romps #2 SYNOPSIS: Don’t fall for your roommate…especially when he’s your best friend. Cooper Bennett is my best friend. That’s all he is and all he ever will be. Nothing will change that. Accidentally seeing him naked? Please. So not a big deal. Having less-than-tame thoughts? I mean, have you seen this guy? Who could blame me? Kissing him? It was a one-time mistake, and it will not be repeated. Falling into bed with him? Uh-oh… It’s fine. We’re fine. We’re Caroline and Cooper. Best friends until the end. Nothing has ever come our way that we couldn’t survive together. Surely, we can handle this too… It's one thing to fall for your roommate, it's another thing when that roommate is also your bestie!
Caroline and Cooper have been BFFs for ten years - they survived high school, college and a cross-country move and have been as strong as ever. It's always been strictly platonic, except for that one time a teenage Cooper kissed Caroline and it did not have the reaction he intended. But when Caroline bumps into a freshly showered, just-in-a-towel Cooper and accidentally gropes him, they enter a grey area between friends and lovers. They're both drawn to one another, but with the risk of destroying ten years of friendship, they don't want to give into temptation lightly. But being roommates mean that the tension is constantly building and it's not long before it boils over. And suddenly it's not just friendship on the line of being broken. Give me ALL the besties-to-lovers and roommates stories! There's just something about following characters who already have an established history that you can feel instantly on the page - props to authors who can make you feel the history between characters and that you've also known them for just a long. Caroline and Cooper's friendship was super fun and it translated so well to something more, with a dash of spice. I do kind of wish that the build-up to their relationship was a little longer - it felt like they got their act together too quick, and while I do enjoy all the cute relationship-y stuff, I do quite enjoy the angsty will-they-won't-they tension we get before they figure everything out. As always, I really enjoyed getting to see a little more of River and Dean from book one, as well as more of Maya, who will be taking the lead in book three - very excited to see what Teagan has cooked up for her (not to mention seeing more of Caroline and Cooper!). If you're looking for a cute and fun romance to fall into, this is one to check out! And while you don't have to read this companion novel in order, I 100% recommend checking out Loathe Thy Neighbor before diving into Caroline and Cooper's story! |
