AUTHOR: Teagan Hunter GENRE: NA Sports Romance PAGES: 288 RELEASED: 28 October 2021 SERIES: Carolina Comets #1 SYNOPSIS: I’m having the definition of a bad year. Game Six loss costing my team the Cup? Check. Getting arrested and ruining my image? Check. Almost getting run over after my car breaks down? Oh, look—a hat trick. My contract is up with the Carolina Comets this year, and I need to get it together if I want to stay with the team. I need relaxation, not a relationship. But when I’m scrolling on a dating app and stumble across the pretty girl who almost ran me over, I know I can’t let her walk away this time. Harper is funny, smart, and doesn’t care about hockey. I’m not supposed to be focusing on anything other than my career, yet I can’t get Harper off my mind I know I shouldn’t fall for her…but I think I already have. She almost hit him with her car and now he can’t get her out of his head...
NHL player Colin has been having the worst luck since the Carolina Comets lost the Stanley Cup, and while heading back to Carolina for the start of the new season, he’s nearly run over after his car breaks down. But Harper, the girl who almost killed him, might just be the turn around his luck needs. Except, once she drops him off at his apartment, he has nothing but her first name and no way to contact her. That’s until he finds her while swiping on a dating app. Harper doesn’t like sports, so had no idea the guy she almost ran over was in fact a well-known NHL player who’s not only been making headlines, but the person she can’t stop thinking about. But now she’s chatting to some hockey fan on a dating app, and he’s starting to feel very familiar... Teagan is combining two of my favourite romance tropes – texting/online relationships and sports, specifically hockey, which I can’t seem to get enough of! If you’ve read her Texting series, you will know how fun her texting relationships can be! In fact, there’s a fun little appearance of some characters from the Texting series, which was a nice little surprise! Colin and Harper were both really fun and interesting characters to follow on their own, and even better to follow together. In particular, I was really intrigued by Harper’s love of horror and the creative business she’s carved for herself out of this passion. Having gotten to know a little about some of the other Carolina Comets players, I’m really excited to follow their stories in upcoming books. They seem like such a fun team, so it’ll be fun to explore that more while also following them on their own romantic journeys. If you’re a sucker for romances, can’t get enough of hockey players, a need a little something to spice up your reading, be sure to add this baby to your TBR! |
