AUTHOR: Emma Chase GENRE: NA Romance PAGES: 276 RELEASED: 21 February 2017 ROYALLY: Royally #2 SYNOPSIS: Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap. He’s not handling it well. Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own: Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition. A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart. While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye. The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor. But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight. As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love It’s The Bachelor meets the royal family is this fun & swoony royal romance.
With his brother abdicating the thrown for love, Henry is now next in line to the throne, and he’d rather be anywhere else. It’s not the life he was brought up for, and not the life he’s accustomed to. Rather than flitting around the world partying and hooking up with an endless line of women, he’s now trying to catch up on the boring paperwork. When the Queen agrees to give him space to allow him to find his feet, Henry decides to use this time to take up an offer to star in a royal edition of the reality dating show Matched. A house full of gorgeous women at his disposal is exactly the distraction he needs, but he soon learns that reality television is far from reality. Of the twenty women involved with the show, the only one he’s at all interested in getting to know is Lady Sarah, sister of one of the contestants. Sarah is shy and spends her days reading, using the show as a way to get out of presenting at a symposium at the library where she works. Unaware to either of them, Sarah could be the one to tame the wild prince and help him find his place as the future King of Wessco. They just have to survive the ruthless world of reality television first. I LOVED Henry the moment we met him in the first book – there’s something about a playboy partying prince that just pulls you into the story and wanting to know more. Plus, we also got a quick little introduction to Sarah and her sister Penelope in book one, so I’m SO glad that Emma chose them for this book so we could see more of them too. There’s swoon, spice and all things nice with this romance, with a side of royal angst, because of course there is. I loved following the development of Sarah and Henry’s relationship, and the positive effect they each had on each other. And although we didn’t get to see too much of the rest of the royal family, it was fun to get to see more of Wessco. The reality dating show trope is always a fun one, but it just hits different when it’s the royal family – can you imagine if they really did that? Maybe in the future Princess Charlotte could be the Bachelorette or something... Anyway, get around this book romance fans – it’s a fun one |
