AUTHOR: Rebecca Jenshak GENRE: College Sports Romance PAGES: 316 pages RELEASED: 23 May 2023 SERIES: Campus Wallflowers #3 SYNOPSIS: Valley U’s hottest QB has heard in detail how I want to climb him like a tree. One viral video and my life as a wallflower is over. Felix Walters knows exactly how I feel about him—so does everyone else on campus. It was supposed to be a private conversation between friends. Now I’m the butt of every joke and everywhere I turn all eyes are on me. It’s every shy girl’s nightmare. Except now the hottest guy on campus wants to be my fake boyfriend. Six weeks. Just pretend. I’m a wallflower fake dating Valley U's hottest player. Is it really a fake relationship if you both fancy each other from the get-go?
Golfer Dahila has always been a little shy, especially around guys, but a new college year means it’s time step out of her comfort zone and experience new things. What she doesn’t expect during the first week is to be recorded while drunkenly telling her friend how much she wants to climb quarterback Felix like a tree. It doesn’t take long for the entire campus to be talking about her, and even less time for Felix to have seen the footage. He’s always liked Dahlia, but had started to view her shyness as her not being into him. How wrong he was. With an ex-girlfriend trying to win him back and Dahlia facing more attention now than ever, Felix offers to be her fake boyfriend for six weeks until the whole thing dies down. But it doesn’t take long before the line blurs between what is fake and what is real as they both realise they want way more than just six weeks. Rebecca once again served up a sweet and swoony college romance read set within the world of Valley U! If you know me, you know I absolutely ADORE this college sports romance world that Rebecca has crafted, and Scoring The Player was such a fun addition to the Valley U megaverse - we finally get a good taste of the football team! After seeing Dahlia as a secondary character in the previous two books, I loved getting to finally see the world through her eyes and get to know her properly. And after having seen Felix in the holiday spin-off duology, I was so excited to get inside his head. Their chemistry was instant and I couldn’t get enough of their story. Fake dating is one of my favourite romance tropes, and Rebecca crafted such a fun one that I absolutely devoured! As always with companion novels, I loved getting to see previous leading couples and seeing their relationships progress in the background. This friend group is such a fun one, and as an introvert myself, also super relatable. And after everything we learnt about fourth wallflower Jane in this book, I’m excited for her story in the final instalment in this series! If you’re looking to fall in love with the college QB, this is the book you’ve been searching for! |
