AUTHOR: Rebecca Jenshak GENRE: NA Romance RELEASED: 25 October 2022 SERIES: Holiday with the Players #1 SYNOPSIS: It was supposed to be a weekend of holiday cheer. Just me and my twin sister, watching Christmas movies and baking cookies. My brother was absolutely not supposed to show up with half the football team. Including Teddy. My brother’s best friend and my secret crush. I’m the shy sister. The one with her nose stuck in a book and quoting every word of Elf, not the one getting attention from guys like Teddy. He’s cool and smart and so handsome I could die. The only thing that could make things worse is if I got snowed in with him. Alone. A sweet snow-filled holiday romance that will have you hoping to be snowed-in with your crush...
Twin sisters Holly and Stella plan on spending a weekend by themselves at their family’s cabin in the mountains before heading home for Christmas. It was meant to be a cozy weekend of skiing for Stella and reading for Holly, but it turns out their older brother Felix has had a similar idea, arriving at the cabin the day earlier with his friends to stay until Christmas Eve. While the siblings are able to work together and all stay at the cabin together, Holly is having a minor freak-out about staying under the same roof as her crush Teddy. Knowing about her crush, Stella convinces her to finally make something happen with Teddy, so when the pair stay behind while everyone else pops back to their parent’s house for the night and they get snowed-in, Holly musters up the courage, thanks to a bit of alcohol, to kiss Teddy. It’s a decision that has the potential to make or break them, especially with the uncertainty of how Felix will react to knowing about his best friend and his sister... Rebecca can honestly do no wrong when it comes to romance, so I was very excited to see her dive into the holiday romance scene with this duology! Not only that, but this is another addition to her Valley U world, and I loved getting to learn a little more about Felix, who we met for the first time in Hating The Player and who, I think, is going to be the feature of Scoring With The Player. I’m pretty sure I say this with every romance I read, but one of my favourite tropes is the brother’s best friend trope, and well as the snowed-in trope, so this one was a double serving of romance goodness! Teddy & Holly are a super cute couple and this was a super sweet romance read. On top of that, it’s just a super cozy holiday read that really gets you in the festive spirit. A short and sweet holiday romance, this is the perfect read for the holiday season. I definitely recommend waiting until Stella’s story is released at the beginning of December so you can devour both in one sitting. |
