AUTHOR: Jana Aston GENRE: NA Romance PAGES: 78 RELEASED: 7 November 2019 SERIES: Reindeer Falls #1 SYNOPSIS: Dear Santa, Please bring me a new boss for Christmas. Mine is the worst. The worst, hidden in a six foot tall package of male perfection. It’d be easier if he looked like an old Scrooge, wouldn’t it? Nick Saint-Croix doesn’t look like an old scrooge. He’s hot as- Um, never mind. Just bring me a new boss. Please. Sincerely, Holly Winter She’s obsessed with Christmas and he’s her Grinch of a boss, and all it takes is a little Christmas magic to bring them together.
Holly Winters adores her life in Reindeer Falls and working at the Flying Reindeer Toy Company – it’s been her dream since she was a child and she loves going to work every day. That was until her new boss Nick Saint-Croix took over from his uncle and always seems so crabby and Grinch-like. She still loves her job, but Nick makes it difficult some days. It also doesn’t help that he’s extremely good-looking. In the lead-up to Christmas, Nick tells Holly she’s joining him on a work trip to Germany to visit the town where Reindeer Falls got its start. It’s a non-negotiable trip, and Holly hates the idea of spending any more time with Nick than absolutely necessary. With the magic of Christmas all around them, and her sister’s words telling her to hook up with her boss floating around her head, anything can happen. Holly and Nick’s story was a super cute and quick holiday romance, with a nice mix of enemies-to-lovers and misconceptions. Even though it was a well-rounded story, I do wish it had been longer – it would have been great to have these characters, and the world of Reindeer Falls, fleshed out more, possibly with some chapters from Nick’s perspective. But overall, it’s a great book to read during the holiday season. It’s like a Hallmark film in book form, and I 100% want to visit Reindeer Falls. As much as I love my Aussie summer Christmas, I want to experience the magic of a winter Christmas, possibly with my swoony boss. Romance fans, let’s get those reading goals smashed with a short but festive read to round-out the year! |
