AUTHOR: Remi Carrington GENRE: Romance PAGES: 220 pages RELEASED: 25 June 2020 SERIES: Never Say Never #1 SYNOPSIS: There are three things Eve said she would never do—move back in with her parents, let her mother set her up, and date a guy with a dog. When a bolt of lightning forces Eve to move back in with her parents, she’s already going back on her ‘never’ list. As if things aren’t bad enough, a tree falls, trapping her in the bathtub. When Adam, the handsome firefighter rescues her, bubbles and all, Eve is so humiliated, she hopes she never sees him again. But as fate would have it, Adam is her blind date – Thanks Mom. Surprisingly, he is perfect … except for one minor thing. He has dogs, and she is a die-hard cat lover. She may never get over her aversion to sloppy kisses (from the dogs), but when Eve dog sits for the weekend, things go from bad to worse. Someone is bound to end in the doghouse forever. Never say never to falling in love with the dog-loving firefighter who rescues you from the bathtub…
After lightning striking her house forces her to move back in with her parents, there are a lot of things Eve decides she never wants to do. Agreeing to let her mum set her up on a blind date is one of them. But she agrees nonetheless to finally get her mother off her back, and its not long until things go from bad to worse when she’s trapped in a bubble bath after a neighbour chops down a tree that crashes through the bathroom. It’s humiliating enough being rescued while she’s naked by handsome firefighter Adam, but when he turns out to be her blind date a couple of days later, Eve is mortified. Except they get on really well and she can’t resist getting to know him. Adam is the perfect man and ticks all her boxes, except that he owns two very large dogs, and dating a man with dogs was on her never wanting to do list as well. But with everything else she’s done after saying she never would, what’s one more thing when it could mean finding the love of your life. This was another one of those books that my Instagram and Facebook algorithm really started pushing onto me and the teasers had me reaching for it the moment I finished my previous read! And the teasers certainly lived up to expectations and I couldn’t get enough to Eve and Adam’s story! Both Eve and Adam were really fun characters, and I loved seeing them both step of out of their comfort zones in order to pursue a relationship with one another - in particular, Eve overcoming her discomfort around dogs. The way they supported one another was super sweet. They were just so swoony and sweet and adorable together! The set-up for Haley’s story was also really interesting, so I definitely need to dive into book two, One Guy I’d Never Date! In fact, most of the secondary characters were fun additions to the story, although I really couldn’t stand Eve’s mother, and I really loved Eve leaving both her and Adam’s mother gobsmacked when she stood up for keeping the developments of their relationship to themselves. There’s nothing like a sweet and fun romance, and Remi certainly delivered with this beauty! If you’re looking for your next easy romance read, look no further than Adam & Eve! |
