Happy Thursday Lovelies!
Let's have a bit of a swatch party because it's been a hot minute since I've made a makeup swatch blog post - 2 years to be precise, with some I Heart Revolution love. I've posted lots of swatches on my Instagram, but wanted to shine a spotlight on a recent favourite - ZOEVA Cosmetics! From the packaging to the eyeshadows themselves, this brand is stunning and after eyeing off some of their palettes for AGES, I'm so glad to have a couple in my collection.
So way back at Christmas 2020, I was gifted a Sephora gift card, which was super exciting. The problem was I didn't know what to get! There's so many amazing brands stocked by Sephora here in Australia, which made it so hard to narrow down what exactly I wanted - I didn't want to go wasting this giftcard on something I might not like, or something that wouldn't suit me (imagine the horror of buying a new foundation or concealer only for it to be the wrong shade).
Eventually, I settled on two ZOEVA Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes, which was hard enough to narrow down to as all their palettes are stunning and I honestly wanted them all! But I'm super happy with the two I chose, which are not only gorgeous on their own, but actually work super well together too. So enter Opulence and Aristo, two of ZOEVA's 10-pan palettes that are simply gorgeous inside AND out!
Aristo was the first palette I got my eyes on - it's a gorgeous everyday neutrals palette with a pop of blue, making it a great addition to any collection and good palette to try out first. The palette is an even split of matte and shimmer shades, with each matte and shimmer paired up.
What really drew me into this palette, apart from the packaging (there's just something about the dark navy/black and gold combination that just calls to me!), was two shades in particular - Naturalistic and Pre-History. If you know me, you'll know I'm a sucker for brown shades (literally, I have too many in my collection and don't really need any more), and I've also been turning to olive and grungy shades a lot too. Also, have you noticed that a lot of brown and neutral palettes seem to include a random pop of blue these days? Yeah, it's a little weird, but I kinda love it, so Mother's House also had my name written ALL over it. The shimmers pack a gorgeous punch while the mattes are gorgeously pigmented and super buildable.
For the second palette, I eventually landed on Opulence. As I said, it was super hard to narrow down just which palettes I wanted, but there was something about Opulence that just called to me. Not only that, but it complimented Aristo SO well! Where Aristo was an even split of mattes and shimmers, Oppulence is ALL shimmer, bar one shade, making it more of a night-out and glam palette.
Like with Aristo, the shade that really called to me here was Koh-I-Noor, a stunning royal blue. The rest of the shimmers range from some gorgeous inner-corner highlight shades to vampy shimmers for the perfect smoky eye. It's honestly the perfect shimmer palette to pair with any matte, or predominately, matte palettes in your collection. The packaging also continues the black and gold love, and the flowers really make the palette feel opulent, as the name suggests. Again, the shimmers pack a stunning punch that will take any look to the next level, and I can't wait to keep incorporating them into my looks!
Like seriously, how gorgeous are both of these palettes! Check out the two reels I posted for both sets of swatches:
This has been such a fun blog post to put together, so I definitely want to try and do more swatch party posts in the future, especially because I have been posted lots of swatches on my Instagram.
I'd love to know if you've used either of these palettes before, or if you've tried any of ZOEVA's products - there's definitely more I have my eye on! Don't forget, this month I'm participating in Liptember, so if you want to get involved and support an important cause - Women's Mental Health - then I'd be super grateful.
