Happy Silly Season! Christmas is only TWO WEEKS away! Which means we are very quickly running out of time to do ALL the festive things - getting all the shopping done, singing all the Christmas carols, watching all the Christmas films, and baking all the festive goodies! I have been on an absolute Christmas film binge recently and I have been LOVING IT! I think one of my favourite things about the festive season is ALL the Christmas films that hit our screens - between all the new films and all the old favourites, you can’t say that there’s nothing to watch in December! Before diving into the classics and my favourites, I like to watch as many cheesy Hallmark and Lifetime films as possible, and this year I’ve watched some absolutely fabulous ones, even if some are uber corny and cheesy. With SO many Christmas films out there, it can be a little overwhelming about which films to watch, so here’s a round-up of twelve festive films to enjoy this silly season! Happy December! We are OFFICIALLY in the silly season, and I am SO excited! I absolutely LOVE the Christmas season, and even though it’s not the same excitement as when I was a child (because nothing will top the excitement of waiting to see what Santa would bring you, playing with all your new goodies, and getting to have a magical day with all your siblings/cousins), I do love the atmosphere of the whole holiday season. There’s just something about seeing all the Christmas stuff in shops, people decorating their houses with lights, putting up the Christmas tree, watching Christmas films and specials, and listening to Christmas carols. So today, I just had to share my 2023 Christmas Playlist - fifty songs spanning almost three hours of Christmas goodness that will really get you in the festive spirit! There are SO many fabulous Christmas songs, and like a million versions of some of them, but I’m really happy with the playlist I’ve been able to curate this year. So here’s to blasting ALL the festive music over the next three weeks! Happy Wednesday Friends! T-minus FORTY days until Christmas!! Last week I shared my annual gift guide, comprising of a whopping EIGHTY-SEVEN gifts, but I left out a whole chunk of gift recommendations - genealogy-related gifts! If you know me, you’ll know that I’m big into genealogy, so much so that it’s a whole topic here on my blog and I created a genealogy podcast - Uncovering Family History. So this year I thought it would be fun to create whole separate gift guide filled with gift ideas for the family history buffs in our lives! I’ve rounded up 42 products covering books, commemoration, decor, novelties, subscriptions, supplies, and technology, so there is hopefully something for everyone to unwrap on Christmas. And with the holiday season being the perfect time to get some research and family questioning done, these gifts will certainly come in handy! This post contains some affiliate links*
Happy Hump Day Friends! Can you believe there are only FORTY SEVEN days until Christmas?!? It’s actually crazy how fast this year has gone, and with Christmas right around the corner, we are quickly running out of time to get the Christmas shopping done. Especially when you factor in shipping times for online shopping. Last week, I kicked off my holiday season content with 45 Advent Calendars you need to be checking out if you’re on the hunt for something to countdown to Christmas with, so this week it’s time to start figuring out what you’ll be buying for other people! As the years go by, this list gets a little bit more ridiculous and this year I’ve hit a new record of EIGHTY SEVEN gift recommendations - I’m aiming for 100 in 2024! I’ll admit, the list is a little overwhelming, but there are hopefully plenty ideas to get you started (and finished) on your present shopping before December rolls around! Happy Hump Day Friends! Now that Halloween is over, it’s time to dive headfirst into all things Christmas! With only 54 days to go until we’re opening presents around the Christmas tree, we’re quickly running out of time to buy all the gifts and do all the festive things we need to do. And with only a month to go until December, now is the time to purchase all the advent calendars we want to countdown to Christmas with! Gone are the days where advent calendars were only for kids, so I’ve rounded up a list of 45 advent calendars you should be looking into if you’re still looking for the perfect Christmas Countdown for 2023 - from beauty to food to lifestyle to toys, there’s something for everyone this December! Happy Hump Day Friends! Christmas in only EIGHTEEN days away, which means we are quickly running out of time to jam in as many festive activities as possible before the big day! I hope your Christmas shopping is going well, or maybe even finished, your house is decorated, and Christmas cards sent out. If you’re like me, you’ll also be trying to cram in as many holiday films as possible, which is one of my favourite things to do during December! Every year though, it’s getting more and more difficult because I not only want to watch my ever-growing list of favourites again, but there are always SO many new films being released that I want to watch too! So if you’re looking for a few new films to check out this year, I’ve rounded up twelve that definitely need to be on your watch-list this month! Happy December Eve! Can you believe December is literally tomorrow?! 2022 has really flown by, and while it’s scary knowing that 2023 is only 31 days away, I am so excited for all the Christmas festivities before the year comes to a close! There are SO many festive activities to cram into the next 25 days, and one of those activities is bingeing some Christmas episodes and specials. There’s baking to be done, film and TV series to watch, books to be read and carols to be sung, so it’s hard to know where to start! So let’s start the festive season off with some Christmas episodes and specials that definitely need to be on your watch-list this month. I’ve shared a few lists over the years, and this one is a pretty nice mix of childhood nostalgia, classic sitcoms, Australian drama, and recent comedy gold, so there is definitely something for everyone. Happy Hump Day Book Lovers! Every year in the lead-up to Christmas, I share the movies and TV series that you need to be checking out over the holiday period, and this year I thought why not share some festive book recommendations too! Every year, I always try to cram in at least one festive read before the end of the year, so I’ve finally amassed enough books to share in a blog post. If you’re a romance fan looking to add snow-filled festivities into all aspects of your life in December, then these book are definitely ones you need to be checking out! What better way to celebrate the silly season than by curling up by the fire (or under the air conditioner if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere like me) with some yummy snacks, a good drink, and a festive romance book! Happy Hump Day Friends!
It might only be the middle of November, but it’s never too early to start blasting the Christmas Carols! Well, some people probably think it’s too early, but I don’t care – I want the Christmas magic for as long as possible! Once again, I’ve curated a Christmas playlist to have on repeat from now until Christmas, and I’m super happy with the mix of songs – there’s a good variety of old classics and newer songs, which is always make for such a fun and festive vibe! This year, the playlist comes in at 50 songs spanning 2 hours and 43 minutes. While it’s not the longest playlist (that honour goes to last year’s playlist), I’m pretty proud of myself for not having it be ridiculously long with songs repeated several times. So let’s get into the festive spirit with ALL the Christmas songs! Happy Hump Day Friends! Oh my gosh there's only FOURTY SIX days until Christmas! That's not really a lot of time left to get all the Christmas shopping done, especially when you factor in shipping times for online shopping! Last week, I shared 24 Advent Calendars that you need to be checking out if you’re still on the hunt for something to countdown to Christmas, so this week it’s time to start figuring out the gifts to buy for other people. Last year’s gift guide was of ridiculous proportions, and this year I’ve somehow managed to top that with even more gifts! The number of gifts is a little overwhelming if I’m being honest, but there are plenty of ideas and inspirations to hopefully get you started, and finished, on your present shopping before December rolls around!
