Happy Pride Month! It’s June, winter is here, and time is bloody weird! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a seasonal favourites post, and since I’ve amassed a nice little list of current obsessions, I thought it was the perfect time to dust off the favourites and share them with you all! There’s a nice mix of beauty, music and lifestyle, and I honestly think this is my favourite collection of favourites – although, I can’t really recall all my previous favourites collections, so who knows! So grab your drink of choice and check out some of the things I’ve been absolutely LOVING so far this year! beauty Kicking things off with an absolute holy grail – the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Radiance Concealer with Hyaluronic and Acai! If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I absolutely adore Makeup Revolution and their products which are fantastic quality and super affordable, and this concealer is no different. It’s medium to full-coverage and a little honestly goes such a long way in covering up breakouts and dark circles. It blends so easily with foundation to create a flawless finish, and it wears super well throughout the day, and this is coming from someone with combination skin where my makeup is always threatening to slide off my face by the end of the day. Plus, it doesn’t dry out the sensitive skin around your eyes while you’re trying to cover up the face you got less than eight hours of sleep! If you’re on the hunt for a new concealer or you’ve never tried Makeup Revolution, you NEED to add this beauty to your list! I’ve been dying my hair for almost seven years know, and while I started with simple brown, I’ve slowly progressed through to red and now purple tones. Recently I started using the Schwarzkopf Brilliance Permanent Hair Colour in 03 Dark Amethyst and I am in LOVE! I adored having a red/violet tone to my hair after having been a medium to dark brown, but Dark Amethyst has been my favourite iteration so far. I never realised how much I actually liked my hair being so dark, and the cool tone of the purple actually suits me really well. Schwarzkopf has been my go-to since I started dying my hair and I’ve loved how great the colour looks, how well it lasts, and just how easy the whole dying process is. Speaking of dyed hair, one thing I’ve been on the hunt for since I started dying my hair is a good shampoo and conditioner that targets colour-treated hair. Enter the TRESemme Colour Revitilise Shampoo and Conditioner! I used to use TRESemme back in the day as a teen, but hadn’t really circled back to it since dying my hair. I was super fortunate to be sent the duo thanks to Beauty Heaven and I’ve really enjoyed getting reacquainted with the brand! I also LOVE the pump bottle – more brands really need to start making their products available in pump bottles because it’s just so easy and convenient to use in the shower! And the product itself has been such a joy to use and so far one of my favourite colour protecting shampoo and conditioners. And rounding out the beauty favourites are the Ulta3 Nail Colours. I’ve been slowly revamping my nail polish collection and have been really enjoying growing my Ulta3 collection – there’s so many gorgeous shades to choose from, they’re really affordable, and they wear really well when paired with a good base and top coat. I’ve tried a LOT of different nail polish brands over the years, and Ulta3 is definitely up there as being an all-time favourite. I’m already eyeing off a heap more shades to add to my collection, so watch this space! film & tv Like the rest of the world, I absolutely DEVOURED Heartstopper in one sitting and I loved every single second of it. And this favourite is also a book one since I made sure to binge the graphic novels before the Netflix series dropped. Alice Oseman delivered such an amazing queer teen story and I couldn’t get enough of the books or the series. I’m SO excited for the fifth volume of the graphic novels, AND the next two seasons of the adaption! If you loved to TV series, I 100% recommend reading the books – it’s probably one of the most accurate adaptations I’ve ever watched, and they really did the books and characters justice. Check out my reviews for the graphic novels here, here, here, and here. food My day literally does not start without a coffee, so you’d think I’d have been all over the iced coffee situation since the beginning. Yeah no, I didn’t have my first sip of an iced coffee until last year, and it’s really only been in the last few months that I’ve been drinking it on the regular. And my drink of choice is definitely Dare Double Espresso or Dare Triple Espresso. Like, I literally think I’ve nearly had at least one bottle a week for the last like six weeks, and I’m obsessed! Is this a healthy obsession? Probably not entirely, but they taste bloody good and I do love me a caffeine hit... I’ve not tried many other brands, so I’d love to know some of your favourites so I can check them out the next time I see them! music This year has been a killer year for music so far, with two of my all-time favourites dropping new albums. First is So Far So Good from The Chainsmokers, and the wait between albums has been totally worth it. From the lead singles ‘High’, ‘iPad’ and ‘Riptide’ to favourites ‘In Too Deep’, ‘Channel 1’, ‘Maradona’ and ‘Something Different’, there really isn’t a skip on the entire album. Alex, and in particular Drew, have come such a long way from the ‘#SELFIE’ and ‘Closer’ days and they’re music has just gotten better and better with every album release. Also vying for top spot this year is Harry’s House from Harry Styles! Since he dropped ‘As It Was’, I’ve been super excited to hear what this new era will sound like and he certainly delivered! Again, it’s another album with really zero skips, but my current favourites are definitely ‘Love Of My Life’, ‘Satellite’, ‘Daylight’, ‘Little Freak’ and ‘Late Night Talking’. This is also the first Harry album where I’ve been a proper fan and really keen to hear the tracks as everyone else does, so it’s been a lot of fun fangirling alongside everyone. And rounding out the current music obsessions are a couple of songs. First is James Johnston’s ‘RAISED LIKE THAT’ which is such a great country bop. And as someone who is born and bred in the country, it’s also SUPER relatable. The other is Greyson Chance’s ‘Nobody’ which I found by chance thanks to Mark Ferris’ Instagram stories and I’ve been OBSESSED with it! Both songs featured on my Autumn 2022 playlist and instantly rolled over to my Winter 2022 playlist. If you’ve not heard either song, make sure you give them a listen ASAP! miscellanous And finally, rounding everything out is something technically to do with music, but it deserves its own little moment. I’ve never once been interested in Crypto or NFTs, and quiet honestly still don’t know anything about them, but I’ve finally dipped my toe in thanks to The Chainsmokers. As part of their album release, The Chainsmokers minted 5000 tokens which, aside from looking so freaking stunning, also grant the owner to 0.002% of royalties from the album as well as a bunch of perks, a lot of which haven’t been announced yet. Oh, and they gave them away to their fans for free. Again, I know nothing about NFTs or Crypto, but I do love The Chainsmokers and being part of their community, and the teased perks were too good to pass up the opportunity. So I managed to score #417 during the VIP drop and I LOVE the token artwork I ended up with! It’s pretty damn good token to have as your first NFT and I’m so excited to see what will come with it. And that’s a wrap! As I said, it ended up being a pretty great list of favourites and it’ll be interesting to see if my Winter favourites will come anywhere close to comparing with it!
