AUTHOR: Rebecca Jenshak GENRE: NA Sports Romance PAGES: 312 RELEASED: 14 December 2021 SERIES: Wildcat Hockey #1 SYNOPSIS: I met my dream girl. That’s right. She’s stunning and the worst bartender I’ve ever seen. I should have gone home and gone to sleep—dream girl or not. I had an early morning and the season was starting soon. But when she threatened me with boy band karaoke I couldn't help myself. I went. The stars aligned. I have never felt more alive or wanted anyone more than I want her. When it’s time for me to head on my annual pre-season boys trip, I barely let her go. It’s been a week and I can’t stop thinking about her. Except there she is. Right here at the Wildcat’s kickoff party. And as luck would have it, my dream girl is the coach’s youngest daughter. But everyone knows the coach’s daughter is off limits. Right? His dream girl is the coach’s daughter, but that’s not going to stop him, right?
With his summer classes over, Leo is gearing up for the return of the hockey season, but not before one final night out, made all the more fun when he meets his dream girl. Turns out his dream girl, however, is his coach’s daughter, Scarlett. The smart thing to do is just forget about her and not piss his coach off, but when Scarlett fills in as her father’s assistant, Leo can’t help but find moments to talk to her or spend time with her. After having her heart broken overseas by a sports star who chose to hide her from the world, Scarlett isn’t about to make the same mistakes again. But there’s something about Leo that she can’t stay away from. Their chemistry is undeniable, and no matter how much she fears the heartbreak, Scarlett and Leo just can’t not be together. Leo was not the Wildcat I was expecting Rebecca to focus on first after we were introduced to the team back in Wild Love, but that didn’t stop me from loving his story! Especially because we got to learn more about the teammates we didn’t see as much of during Maverick’s story – I don’t care whose book is next, I’m just excited to spend more time with another bunch of swoony hockey players! Scarlett and Leo’s relationship was the perfect amount of swoon, spice and flirt, which is just how I like my sports romances. Rebecca continually delivers on romances that I just can’t get enough of – where are all these guys IRL??? On top of that, she also always delivers a really fun friendship group that are a joy to spend time with. I keep saying it, but Rebecca could 100% just write a book focusing on friendships and it’d still be super enjoyable to read. I’m really excited to see where this series goes, especially the potential with it being set within the Valley U world – there’s so many characters that can make fun cameos for long-time fans. Romance fans, get excited for another swoony hockey romance series, because the Wildcats are here to turn up the heat and play! |
