Hiya Everyone! SPRING IS NEARLY HERE! Everything is finally starting the thaw out, the birds are singing, flowers are popping up all over the place, and my hay fever is slowly kicking in. Spring is my favourite season, so I'm excited that it's finally here - although kind of freaking out about September only being a few days away... ANYWAY, time to go over everything I've been loving over Winter. It's a very eclectic collection of favourites, but if you follow me on social media, these won't come as much of a surprise. The only beauty product in my favourites this around is the Duvolle Radiance Spin-Care System. Full disclosure: this product was kindly sent to me from the company, but I've not been paid to speak positively about the product - I just genuinely love using it! I used to have a similar product years ago, but since it was very cheap and not water resistant, it never fitted into my skincare routine. This product is water proof, meaning I can actually use it in the shower when I use my cleanser and scrubs. It's slotted into my skincare routine perfectly and has been a great addition - my skin has felt and looked so fresh and clean and I've definitely noticed my breakouts have been less. (I've got a skincare routine video going up during September, so stayed tuned for more!) Duvolle have kindly provided me with a promo code for you to get 70% off this product, which is a MASSIVE saving! If you've been eyeing a product like this off, this is the perfect chance to pick one up. Promo code: MYDAZZLING - get it here (this code is simply to give you a saving - I don't get anything out of it). Love Island UK was back over Winter and I was super excited for it! I didn't watch the UK version last year, but Australia's first season was so good so I've been hanging out for the new UK season ever since - and this season was so worth the wait! I got so invested in these people's lives (way more than one should, to be honest), and absolutely lived for the drama. My faves included Curtis, Tommy, Maura, Lucie, Joe, Molly, Ovie and Chris, and I'm having severe withdrawals since the finale - thank god for social media and keeping up with everyone's lives post-Mallorca. Hopefully we don't have to wait too much longer for the new Aussie season, but I'm super excited that we get TWO UK seasons next year! Fun Fact: I never used to be into romance/dating reality TV series. BUT, then Love Island came along and that's completely changed. Because the other reality show I've been loving over Winter has been Are You The One? I'd never heard of this show until the Come One, Come All promo popped up in the Twitter feed and I was instantly hooked. The overall premise of the show is really interesting - a whole house of singles working to find their perfect matches in order for the house as a whole to win $1 million - and the fact that this new season is actually a sexually fluid season (meaning anyone could be your perfect match) has had me craving the weekly drama with each new episode. I'm a little sad that it's nearly over, but I've loved every minute of the messy drama and cute couplings. Guess who finally downloaded and signed up to an app they couldn't see the obsession with and now absolutely loves it? Yep, I'm on TikTok in case you didn't know (if you follow me on my other socials you've no doubt seen me posting about it). Not only am I just on the app watching other people's content, I've also been creating my own TikToks and I'm loving it so much! I could never see the appeal of Musical.ly/TikTok, but a couple of people I follow on Instagram started posting about it and I was very intrigued. Now, not even a few weeks later, I'm obsessed! There are some AMAZING creators on the app and I've come to follow a lot of theatre-loving cosplayers who create some fantastic content. If you feel like checking out my stuff, you'll find my profile here. If you follow me on social media you will know that I saw Harry Potter & The Cursed Child in Melbourne at the beginning of July. AND IT WAS PHENOMENAL! While I'm not an fan of the overall story Jo was trying to tell, I absolutely LOVED the production - everything from casting, music, lighting, effects, ensemble and onstage magic was brilliant! Ever since I've come home I've been listening to the soundtrack and counting down the days to when I get to see it again in April next year. If Cursed Child is coming to your country, you NEED to get tickets - yes, it's a little pricey, but it's worth every single dollar. Way back when I had 5SOS's Youngblood in my favourites, so now I'm following that up with one of their newest songs Easier. I literally had a day when I had this song and only this song on repeat - yes, it's that good. Not only that, the music video is awesome! I didn't know we needed Luke Hemmings singing while tied to a cave ceiling in our lives, but I'm glad we do. While I've never really followed 5SOS and been waiting for their new songs, I'm definitely keen to hear what this new album has to offer! Ya'll know I LOVE The Chainsmokers, so when they dropped their newest song Takaway, a collab with Illenium and featuring Lennon Stella, I was straight on YouTube to watch the music video. Once again, The Chainsmokers are SLAYING with this new album, and both the song and music video are great. I've loved having this song in my Winter Playlist rotation - at this rate, this whole album is going to be an absolute banger! I've officially fallen down the musical and theatre rabbit hole, no thanks to TikTok. I FINALLY listened to the Hamilton soundtrack in its entirety, and I can now see why so many people are obsessed with this show and the music - it's AMAZING! I've had the album on repeat so much over the past month (like seriously, it's sometimes all I've listened to). I can't believe it's taken me so long to jump on this fandom train, but I'm so glad I'm finally on board! Another musical that I've heard of but just never decided to give it a listen is Six. As a history nerd and Tudor lover, when I first heard that this musical existed I was a little 'meh', but after finally listening to the album, my attitude did a complete 180 - this is such a fun musical! If you don't know, Six is about Henry VIII's six wives - Catherine, Anne, Jane, Anne, Catherine and Katherine - as they form a pop group and share their experiences with Henry in order to get the lead singer position. The music is great and if you've not joined the Queendom, get on it now! See, it's very eclectic! And I dive fall further down the musical rabbit hole, you can be sure to see more in my Spring favourites.
Let me know what you've been loving over the past three months and your thoughts on anything I've shared here. See you in the Spring! Victoria :) |
