All opinions are my own. Happy New Year Booklovers! 2023 has come to an end which means it’s time to share ALL the year-in-reviews and wrap-ups - we’ve had Spotify Wrapped, My Year On YouTube, and Twitch Recap, but I’ve saved the best until last. That’s right, it’s time for my 2023 reading wrap up with the help of Perpetual Page Turner’s ‘End Of Year Book Survey’! I’ve been doing this survey every year since I started blogging, and I love taking a look back at everything I’ve read over the last twelve months, seeing the statistics, and seeing how I reflect on those books now. If you haven’t checked out Jamie’s blog, make sure you do because she shares so much fabulous bookish content! After a couple of hit and miss years, I’m excited to say that I DID complete my reading goal, and actually stayed on track the entire year - here’s hoping that I can absolutely smash my goal in 2024, but before we jump ahead a whole year, let’s wrap up 2023! Her villain narrative on the show should be the cherry on top of the cake of Murray’s perfect season, but what no one knows is that Murray already knows Lily. Not as Lily Fireball, but as Lily Ong: his former best friend. Now Lily has thrust herself back into Murray’s life, and into the most stressful season he’s ever worked on. Why is she here? What is her agenda? And why can’t Murray just concentrate on his job, instead of fighting to shield her from hateful viewers – and keep her with him forever? I’d kill to be sitting beside a fireplace, drinking cocoa, wearing flannel pajamas and reading a book. Instead, I’m here, standing in front of my one-night stand’s house, working up the courage to ring the doorbell and tell him I’m pregnant. I hate that term—one-night stand. It sounds so cheap and sleezy. Tobias Holiday is neither of those things. He’s handsome and caring. Witty and charismatic. And once, a long time ago, he was mine. Our one-night reunion was only supposed to be a hookup. A fling with an old lover. A parting farewell before I moved to London and put my feelings for him an ocean away. How exactly am I supposed to explain that to Tobias that I’m having a baby? His baby? Maybe I could sing it. He always loved the silly songs I made up in the shower. Three French hens, two turtle doves. And a partridge and a pregnancy. AUTHOR: Jana Aston GENRE: Romance PAGES: 107 pages RELEASED: 18 November 2021 SERIES: Reindeer Falls #6 SYNOPSIS: My name is Carter Sheppard and I actually like Christmas and my Christmas-themed hometown of Reindeer Falls. But it won’t last forever and every player needs a long-term game plan. And I just found mine. Wrapped up in the feisty, bespectacled package of the town librarian. Unfortunately, she thinks I’m a player in all aspects of the word, but I’ve got a plan to win her over. Starting with a fake engagement… AUTHOR: Willa Nash GENRE: Romance PAGES: 157 pages RELEASED: 4 November 2021 SERIES: Holiday Brothers #2 SYNOPSIS: I pride myself in being grounded. Sure, I’ve had my share of childhood fantasies. Winning an Oscar. Winning the lottery. Winning an Olympic medal for an athletic talent I have yet to discover. But the only fantasy I ever thought might actually happen was winning my brother’s best friend. Heath Holiday. My crush on him has ebbed and flowed over the years, but the day I started working for his construction company was the day I smothered it for good. Sort of. Mostly. It was on my to-do list. Making it a priority would have been easier had he not arrived at his family’s annual Christmas party looking ridiculously handsome in a suit. Then he kissed me. We stepped into an alternate universe and he kissed me. I assumed the next day I’d just be Guy’s little sister again. The office newbie. Our kiss forgotten. Except he keeps showing up at my house. With gifts. A gold bracelet carrying three jingling bells. Two dainty jeweled earrings, each shaped as a bow. And finally, he brought himself. One brother’s best friend, asking if I can keep a secret. AUTHOR: Jana Aston GENRE: Romance PAGES: 95 pages RELEASED: 11 November 2021 SERIES: Reindeer Falls #5 SYNOPSIS: My name is Jake Sheppard and I’m ambivalent about Christmas and the Christmas-themed town I grew up in. But when I find out my late uncle left me an old barn and acres of land, the decision to return home to build my dream golf course is an easy one. Imagine my surprise when I arrive and find out I have a squatter. An incredibly sexy squatter, with wavy blonde hair, green eyes, a free spirit… and a herd of goats. Sutton hates my guts. Apparently evicting a non-paying non-tenant and her goats weeks before Christmas is grounds for war. Except Sutton's version of war includes flinging her clothing at me and, as it turns out, I might be in way over my head with this girl… AUTHOR: Willa Nash GENRE: Romance PAGES: 165 pages RELEASED: 4 November 2021 SERIES: Holiday Brothers #1 SYNOPSIS: One week with one little girl—an angel, according to my staffing agency. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers. Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn’t even know I existed. And the same Maddox Holiday who hasn’t set foot in Montana for years because he’s been too busy running his billionaire empire. Enduring seven days is going to feel like scaling the Himalayas in six-inch heels. Toss in the Holiday family’s annual soiree, and Christmas Eve nightmares really do come true.
